For dinner, we met up with Auntie Ruth & Uncle Jeff who are living and working just outside Beijing. They took us on the subway to “their out-of-town guests” restaurant at the World Trade Center (Beijing). The food was delicious and not too greasy. Afterwards, we headed back to our hotel where there was a female [...] It was quite the experience seeing the immensely grand palaces and courtyards. The girls did a great job walking through the entire palace. Unfortunately, it started raining by the time we got to the north entrance. We tried to wait it out in the cafe, but it just got worse. And we learned after the fact, [...] After breakfast, we headed over to the Forbidden City which was within walking distance from our hotel. Along the way, we went through the Forbidden City Garden which was a nice quiet and scenic spot in the middle of the [...] For breakfast, we avoided the westernized hotel fare, walking outside our hotel and found a small little dumpling shop that made them from scratch AND to order. The girls were duly impressed as the lady rolled out two skins at a [...] |
