By the end of the trip, the girls were very comfortable staying in their own hotel room, and actually preferred it that [...] The older boys wanted to do the cart racing at the tracks in Nei-Wan. Some of the adults and younger kids joined in as well. But it was so cold once night fell that it was almost painful to go around the track. [slideshow+videos] Video: [...] On New Year’s Day, we caravaned with Rebecca’s family down to Nei-Wan, a Hakka village near Hsinchu. We stuffed ourselves on delicious hakka snacks, food and drinks.
