The day started off with the moms going out for some shopping while the rest of us hung out at the hotel. The kids got to test out their snorkel gear in the pool. Later, in the afternoon, we headed over to Waiola’s for some shave ice.
In the evening, we met up with Gene’s family at the beach for some more swimming and a sunset picnic. Afterwards, the kids didn’t have enough playing, so Emily and Dylan came back with us for a sleepover. [slideshow]

This was our last day in the vacation home as Emmanuel’s parents flew back to the mainland. So along with packing and cleaning, we squeezed in one last BBQ, some fishing and crazy playing by the kids. The kids had a great time playing with their cousins Dylan and Emily. (as seen above)
After checking in at the Marriott Courtyard in Honolulu, we settled in and took a short afternoon break in our “smaller” digs (in comparison). Later, we headed over to the Wyndham Waikiki where the Chang cousins were staying. Along the way, we got to see a hula dance performance out in front of the Wyndham. [slideshow]

We had our last official family reunion party of the trip, this time celebrating Fred and Toby’s August birthdays. Afterwards, everyone made use of the house’s great location and layout with some swimming, fishing and general lounging.
In the evening, Emmanuel’s parents watched the kids, while we headed out for some izakaya at Tokkuri-Tei [yelp]. [slideshow]

We started off the Sunday with the kids making Chinese onion pancakes which we had for breakfast the following day. But we couldn’t help to taste some of their hard work.
Later that day, we joined some of the Fan clan in visiting Emmanuel’s uncle’s gravesite to pay our respects and to remember those that have already passed on.
We ended the day with another reunion party, this time at Auntie Carol’s condominium complex where the kids got to swim, and we all enjoyed lots of catered Hawaiian food. [slideshow]
