Because of jetlag, the day started off very early, with some fishing and playing on the beach, which was literally steps from our backyard. We then headed into downtown for the wedding rehearsal of Emmanuel’s cousin Samuel and his fiancee Christine. Elise was excited to play her part in the ceremony as the Flower Girl. Afterwards, we were invited to the Waioli Tea Room for the rehearsal lunch, which was followed up with a stop at Waiola Shave Ice. We started off with an early morning flight out of LAX. After arriving in Hawaii and meeting up with Emmanuel’s parents, we were welcomed at our rental house by Honolulu PD (we inadvertently set off the home alarm while waiting impatiently for the house keys). Once we had all settled in, we did some shopping downtown to stock up on food and gear up on snorkeling and fishing gear.
