Big Bear Camping

Published by Emmanuel under outdoors

We went for our second attempt at camping this year (the first was disrupted by weather) up in Big Bear Lake at Serrano Campground. And this time the weather was much more cooperative.

The girls did great and had lots of fun. It was good to hangout with old friends and just relax out in nature for the weekend. And Emmanuel got to squeeze in a mountain bike ride. [slideshow+videos]

Here is the GPS track of a short hike that we took the kids on Saturday morning:

‘Camping’ in Lake Arrowhead

Published by Emmanuel under Friends

'Camping' in Lake Arrowhead
This was the first camping trip that we had gone on as a family since Elise was born. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t very cooperative, dumping snow, hail and rain the day we arrived. We were able to find a cabin to stay in for the first night. Here’s Elijah’s take on it.

The next day, the rain stopped long enough for us to set our tents up on the snow, but the cold was too extreme to sleep-in, so we ended up staying in a cabin for the rest of the weekend. The kids still had fun though, running around in the snow, and playing with their friends non-stop throughout the trip. [slideshow]
